WITH THE MUMMY AND THE TEN COMMANDMENTS as some of my all-time favorite movies, I consider it a mystery why I had never gotten around to watching what appears to be the greatest desert film of all time. And with the awe-inspired gasps I let out as each new scene opened, I can't really explain why in 216 minutes, I had not thought of switching to a screen larger than that of my 13-inch MacBook.
But I think this can explain why I may just be dressed in khaki for the next couple of days.
Lawrence of Arabia, 1962. Directed by Davin Lean.
