I'VE GOT A FAVORITE EXPRESSION coined and used by a good friend of mine, usually in reference to wasted birthday parties that relive themselves via an influx of Facebook photos in the weeks that follow. "The gift that keeps on giving." She says of the event, which makes itself and its follies ever so present even after the event had passed.
Upon finally getting a copy of my Adobo Magazine feature, a day before the issue month's end, I can't think of a more apt expression. That Cinder-thrilling encounter I had four months ago was indeed a gift that has kept on giving, long after my birthday had passed. Beyond attention, the win has given far more; with various interviews serving as a great way to introspect about the things I've learned, those I've yet to learn, my sources, influences and personal creative process. What to say, what not to say. How to better say it next time.
Thank you Adobo Mag for celebrating my triumph with me, as if I were still in the industry. Advertising has taught me much and for this, it will always be a part of who I am. Glad to know I can continue to be a part of it too.
